Ahmedabad, India — Two outstanding automobiles from the renowned Pranlal Bhogilal Collection, housed at the Dastan Autoworld Museum, have earned international acclaim in France. A 1927 Hispano-Suiza H6C and a 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K were invited to participate in the prestigious Concours d’Élégance International at the Musée National de l’Automobile – Collection Schlumpf in Mulhouse, where the Hispano-Suiza was awarded the coveted Best of Show, the event’s highest distinction.
“This emerging partnership reflects the growing international recognition of India’s rich motoring heritage and represents an important step towards strengthening the longstanding cultural ties between the two countries through the preservation, study and celebration of historically significant automobiles,” explained Brijesh Chinai, the Custodian of the Pranlal Bhogilal collection.
Following the Concours, both vehicles were invited to remain on display as part of a special two-month exhibition at the Musée National de l’Automobile. This marks a significant milestone in automotive history, as it is the first occasion on which historic vehicles from Asia have been exhibited at France’s national automobile museum, highlighting the international importance of India’s automotive heritage.
To commemorate this landmark achievement, representatives of the Dastan Autoworld Museum met Mr. Bruno Fuchs, Member of the French National Assembly, Chairman of its Foreign Affairs Committee, and President of the Board of the Musée National de l’Automobile.
The discussions resulted in a shared commitment to “develop closer cooperation between the two museums through the exchange of significant historic vehicles, collaborative exhibitions, and initiatives that promote greater cultural, automotive and industrial dialogue between France and India,” said Mr. Bruno Fuchs.
