- LAUNCHING INDIA’S FIRST-EVER FILM ON DIGITAL ARREST
As Gujarati cinema pushes boundaries with bold, relevant storytelling, filmmaker Anish Shah leads the way with ‘Dharpakad’ – India’s first film on the alarming phenomenon of Digital Arrest. From the makers of ‘Dhunki’ and ‘Udan Chhoo’, the film continues a legacy of distinctive storytelling while stepping into a bold, contemporary space. Produced by Indira Motion Pictures and November Films, it releases in theatres on May 15, 2026, bringing to the big screen a cyber threat quietly infiltrating lives across the country.
Known for his nuanced take on human relationships, Anish has crafted emotionally layered stories – from friendship and love in ‘Dhunki’, starring Pratik Gandhi and Deeksha Joshi, to mature relationship dynamics in ‘Udan Chhoo’. With ‘Dharpakad’, he blends emotional depth with a gripping, high-stakes narrative, exploring a complex father-son relationship.
The film also marks the first on-screen collaboration between Malhar Thakar and Shruhad Goswami. Riding high on multiple hits, Malhar steps into a darker, more intense role, adding to the film’s anticipation.
With ‘Dharpakad’, Anish not only strengthens his voice as a storyteller but also establishes himself as a filmmaker unafraid to explore contemporary, socially relevant themes.
