In a major boost to national communication infrastructure, PM to commission more than 97,500 mobile 4G towers built at a cost of around Rs.37,000 crore with swadeshi technology. In the field of telecom connectivity, the Prime Minister will commission more than 97,500 mobile 4G towers built at a cost of around Rs.37,000 crore with swadeshi technology. This includes more than 92,600 4G technology sites commissioned by BSNL. Over 18,900 4G sites have been funded under the Digital Bharat Nidhi which will connect around 26,700 unconnected villages in remote, border, and left-wing extremism-affected areas, serving over 2 million new subscribers. These towers are solar-powered, making them India’s largest cluster of green telecom sites and a step forward in sustainable infrastructure. Key Highlights of 4G Rollout in Gujarat: Under the 4G Saturation Project (DBN Funded), BSNL Gujarat is rolling out 711 sites with an investment of Rs.902.37 Crores. District-wise, 621 towers across 23 districts and Dadra & Nagar Haveli are ready for inauguration, covering 774 villages. Customers benefit from free installation, Wi-Fi ONTs, 24/7 unlimited calling on any network within India and popular OTT subscriptions at no additional cost. Additionally, BSNL offers IFTV services powered by Skypro to FTTH customers without additional charges, allowing them to enjoy 400+ channels on Smart TV with Crystal Clear Quality. Special drive has been initiated by BSNL to migrate existing Landline/BB Customers to Fiber without changing existing Landline number.
The most popular plans in Gujarat include: Fibre Basic @ Rs. 499 (60 Mbps), Fibre Basic Plus @ Rs. 599 (100 Mbps), Fibre Super Star Premium Plus OTT @ Rs. 999 (200 Mbps + OTT subscriptions). Customers also have the option to pay annually, bi-annually, or tri-annually, and enjoy 1 to 4 months of extra service based on the chosen payment plan.
