This year has been a dream come true for talented anchor Priyaa Saraiya from Ahmedabad. She was selected as the backstage anchor for the 70th Filmfare Awards, held in Ahmedabad on October 11, 2025, becoming the only anchor chosen from Ahmedabad. For Priya, it was a moment of immense pride to represent Gujarati language and talent on such a prestigious national platform.
Priyaa shares, “Being part of the Filmfare Awards was truly a dream come true for me. They were looking for a Gujarati anchor for the backstage, and I was chosen. I feel proud that I could represent the Gujarati language at such a big event.”
Taking up the challenge of backstage anchoring was no small feat. Priyaa explains, “Backstage anchoring is quite demanding because while the anchors and actors on stage draw energy from the live audience, we have to match that same enthusiasm and energy from behind the mic. The voice-over training I received earlier played a huge role in helping me perform confidently.” She credits her voice-over mentor Rajesh Kava for giving her the skills that helped her shine at Filmfare.
Recalling her experience, Priyaa says, “It was unforgettable to witness personalities like Karan Johar and Manish Paul rehearsing, and to share the same stage with them. The most magical moment was meeting Shah Rukh Khan — it truly felt like a dream come true.”

Priyaa’s journey to this achievement wasn’t easy. She began her career as a makeup and hairstylist in 2017, later discovering her passion for anchoring. “I initially dreamt of becoming an RJ, but destiny led me to anchoring — and I’ve never looked back,” she says. “The positive responses from my clients keep me motivated. Whether it’s a grand event like Filmfare or a small local function, I always give my 100%.”
She firmly believes that anchoring is not just about glamour or good looks. “In this profession, it’s your voice, expressions, and professionalism that define your true identity,” she emphasizes.
Priyaa recalls the moment she got the call for Filmfare: “When I received the call, I kept asking, ‘Where did you get my number?’ They told me they found it online. Initially, I thought it was a fake call, but when I received the official conference call a day before the event, I realized it was real.”
To prepare for her big moment, Priyaa took special care of her voice. “Maintaining vocal clarity is the most important aspect of anchoring. I avoid sweets and cold drinks, ensure I rest my throat, and follow specific routines to keep my voice strong.”
After the Filmfare Awards, her phone didn’t stop ringing. “It felt like my home was celebrating a festival! The calls and messages from family, friends, and colleagues made me feel deeply appreciated. It was overwhelming to see years of hard work being recognized,” she shares joyfully.
For Priyaa, anchoring is not just a profession — it’s her passion and life’s purpose. “Support doesn’t always come in the beginning, but determination and love for what you do will always take you forward. Eventually, people recognize your hard work,” she concludes.
Through her remarkable achievement, Priyaa Saraiya has made Ahmedabad — and the entire state of Gujarat — proud, becoming the voice of Gujarat on one of Bollywood’s grandest stages.
