Dr. Mansi Shah is an experienced Neurologist with expertise in the field of Movement Disorders and Parkinson’s disease with over 10 years of experience. She did her MBBS from Baroda Medical College, MD Internal Medicine from M.P. Shah Medical College, Jamnagar and pursued DM Neurology from the prestigious Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, Delhi. She then pursued her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Movement Disorders from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai. Currently she is working as consultant neurologist and movement disorders specialist at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira road. She administers Botulinum toxin therapy for various movement disorders like Dystonia (Cervical, Oromandibular, Hand or Arm Dystonia), Writer’s Cramp, Hemifacial Spasm, Blepharospasm, Spasticity (Cerebral Palsy, Post-Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury Or Multiple Sclerosis), Excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis), Head, Hands or Voice Tremors, Increased saliva drooling (Sialorrhea), Chronic Migraine Headaches. She leads the team at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira road, Mumbai for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Surgery. DBS is an advanced therapeutic option for patients with movement disorders, it is a brain surgery in which a thin wire (electrode) is placed deep in the brain. The electrode is connected to a pacemaker, placed under the skin in the chest. The device sends electrical signals to an area in the brain that controls various movements. Indications for DBS are Parkinson’s disease, Dystonia, Essential tremors, other movement disorders.
