India Commonwealth Trade Council Successfully Inaugurates Gujarat Chapter at India Commonwealth Trade Meeting 2025 in Vadodara

Vadodara, Gujarat December 2025, The India Commonwealth Trade Council (ICTC) successfully hosted the India Commonwealth Trade Meeting 2025 on Thursday, 25 December 2025, at Hyatt Place, Vadodara, marking a significant step towards strengthening trade, investment, and institutional cooperation among Commonwealth nations.

A major highlight of the meeting was the formal inauguration of the India Commonwealth Trade Council – Gujarat Chapter, a milestone initiative aimed at enhancing regional participation in international trade dialogue and fostering stronger economic linkages with Commonwealth countries.



The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Viral Chaudhary, Honorary Chairman, ICTC – Gujarat, who outlined the Council’s vision to promote bilateral and multilateral trade, facilitate cross-border business partnerships, and support the growth of MSMEs across Commonwealth markets. He emphasized Gujarat’s strategic role as a hub for global trade and entrepreneurship.

The meeting was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, H.E. Mr. Mookhesswur Choonee, Former High Commissioner of Mauritius to India, who delivered a keynote address highlighting the strong historical, diplomatic, and economic ties between India and Mauritius. He underscored emerging opportunities in trade, investment, and institutional cooperation, reaffirming Mauritius’s position as a key partner for India within the Commonwealth framework.



A dedicated session on MSME collaboration between India and Mauritius was addressed by Mr. Sanjiv Mulloo, Secretary, Mauritius Business Entrepreneurs Association, who shared insights on entrepreneurship-led growth, sector-specific collaboration, and the potential for sustainable business partnerships between enterprises from both nations.

The programme concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Asif Iqbal, President, IETO, who highlighted the importance of continued dialogue, institutional cooperation, and inclusive economic growth within the Commonwealth network.

The India Commonwealth Trade Meeting 2025 witnessed active participation from members of the business community across Gujarat, along with delegates from India, Mauritius, and other international business communities. The event served as a dynamic platform for industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives to engage in meaningful dialogue and explore long-term opportunities for economic cooperation within the Commonwealth ecosystem.
