Ahmedabad: The concluding day of the four-day Lecture Series, Exhibition, and Multimedia Show—organized by Bharatiya Vichar Manch to mark the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)—featured a keynote address by Sah-Sarkaryavah Shri Alok Kumar Ji. He spoke on the theme “Extensive Outreach and Participation of Virtuous Forces”, reflecting the vision of the fifth Sarsanghchalak Pujya Shri Sudarshan Ji and the present Sarsanghchalak Pujya Dr. Mohanrao Bhagwat Ji.

Shri Alok Kumar Ji described Pujya Shri K. S. Sudarshan Ji as an eminent leader whose ideological depth and organizational vision laid firm foundations for the Sangh’s growth. With a strong academic background in science and engineering, Sudarshan Ji chose the life of a pracharak early on, dedicating his intellect and abilities to national service.
Appointed as the fifth Sarsanghchalak in 2000, he emphasized Swadeshi thought, self-reliance, cultural awakening, and initiated deep scholarly dialogues on economics, technology, national security, and global challenges. His ideas, Shri Alok Ji noted, continue to inspire even after his passing on 15 September 2012.

Speaking further, Shri Alok Ji highlighted the leadership of the current and sixth Sarsanghchalak, Pujya Dr. Mohanrao Bhagwat Ji. After completing his veterinary science degrees in Nagpur, Dr. Bhagwat became active during the Emergency in 1975 and accepted full-time pracharak life in 1977. Serving in various roles, he became Sarsanghchalak in 2009.
Under his leadership, the organization has expanded its work through dialogue, service, social harmony, rural upliftment, national awareness, and self-reliance—adapting meaningfully to changing societal needs. Shri Alok Ji described Dr. Bhagwat Ji’s journey as a profound study in balancing tradition with modernity and social harmony with organizational innovation.

The final day of the event was graced by Education Minister Dr. Pradyumna Vaja, former ministers Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja and Shri Brijeshbhai Merja, Yuvraj Sahib of Bhavnagar Shri Jayvirrajsinh Gohil, motivational speaker Shri Sanjaybhai Rawal, Kothari Swami Shri Vivek Sagar Swamiji (Salangpur Dham), and other revered saints. Senior thinkers of the Sangh, representatives from Prajna Pravah and Bharatiya Vichar Manch, and distinguished personalities from academic, cultural, and social fields were also present.
A special multimedia show titled “100 Years of RSS” showcased inspiring audio-visual content on the Sangh’s role in the freedom movement and its contribution to national life. A documentary tracing the evolution of RSS, its expanding global influence, and its subtle yet significant nation-building contributions received special appreciation.
The exhibition featured 3D models of key landmarks in the Sangh’s centenary journey—Dr. Hedgewar’s House, Mohitewada, Smriti Mandir, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Ram Mandir, and Bharat Mata. Archival documents highlighting the Sangh’s harmonious interactions with national icons like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar, and Kanhaiyalal Munshi were also displayed.
Additional exhibits included documents on the RSS contribution to the freedom struggle, organizational structure, major service activities, and various dimensions of its national work.
The primary aim of the lecture series was to familiarize intellectuals, thinkers, influencers, and prominent citizens with the true character of the RSS, its nation-centric ideology, and its continuous social efforts.
A special attraction was the exclusive sales counter for the commemorative coin “100 Years of RSS”, facilitated by the Mumbai Mint, Government of India, adding a historic touch to the program. Bharatiya Vichar Manch extended a warm invitation to coin collectors and enthusiasts.
On this occasion, Shri Ishan Joshi, General Secretary of Bharatiya Vichar Manch, stated:
“The centenary year of the RSS is not just an organizational celebration but a moment of national awakening. Through this program, we aim to inspire renewed enthusiasm and intellectual strength in national life by understanding the value-driven journey of the RSS.”
For the last 34 years, Bharatiya Vichar Manch has consistently organized impactful programs addressing national and social issues, featuring participation from renowned thinkers and distinguished personalities throughout the year.
