Arya Samaj mourns the sudden passing of Shri Suresh Chandra Arya

New Delhi, October 27, 2025: The Arya Samaj community today expresses deep sorrow at the unexpected demise of Shri Suresh Chandra Arya, a distinguished and longstanding leader of the Arya Samaj movement and the esteemed President of the Sarvadeshik Arya Pratinidhi Sabha. His loss is mourned by all the Arya Samaj centres and devotees across India and beyond.

Shri Arya dedicated his life to the ideals of the Arya Samaj, including the revival of Vedic knowledge, social reform, education and community service. Known for his ability to bring diverse Arya Samaj branches together, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation’s outreach and public presence.

Through his decades of service, Shri Arya spearheaded numerous initiatives to promote Vedic learning beyond ritual and to integrate the Arya Samaj’s message of “knowledge, service, truth” into social uplift programmes. He is remembered for his calm leadership, inclusive vision and dedication to the Arya Samaj cause.

A memorial (Smriti Yajna) in his honour was held this morning at Ahmedabad. The ceremony will be followed by the body donation (Dehdan) arrangement as per the family and organisational decision. On behalf of the community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, to the wider Arya Samaj family, and to all who were inspired by his life’s work. May his legacy continue to guide and uplift.

Expressing deep grief on the demise, Shri S. K. Arya, President, Akhil Bharatiya Dayanand Sewashram Sangh, said, “Shri Arya’s life exemplified selfless service to the Arya Samaj’s principles of truth, reform and education. His leadership will be deeply missed, but his ideals will live on in our collective work.”

Deeply saddened, Shri Vinay Arya, General Secretary, Delhi Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, said, “It is a profound loss for the Arya family. Shri Arya ji brought people together, offered a steady hand in times of challenge, and advanced our work quietly but resolutely. We pledge to honour his memory by continuing with renewed commitment.”
