BSNL Celebrates 26th Foundation Day, Strengthens Digital Connectivity Across Gujarat.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is celebrating its 26th Foundation Day on 1st October 2026, reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable, reliable, secure and inclusive telecom services across Gujarat. As an important pillar of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, BSNL continues to expand connectivity across urban, rural, remote and strategically important areas of the State.  A major milestone has been achieved under the Phase 9.2 Project, with 4,101 4G sites successfully radiated using indigenous 4G technology in Gujarat. Under the 4G Saturation Project, 688 sites have been commissioned in completely uncovered villages, bringing mobile connectivity to areas that previously had no mobile service. These services are enabling citizens to access online education, e-governance, digital services and information related to agriculture and livelihoods and Digital Health Services. This information was provided by Shri Rakesh Goyal, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Gujarat Circle.

BSNL has introduced a Token-Based “Build Your OTT (BYO) Portal”, allowing Fibre and Air Fibre customers to choose their preferred OTT services instead of being restricted to fixed OTT bundles. Customers can select from 25 OTT services across Premium, Entertainment, Regional and Essential categories.

Customers can also purchase additional tokens through convenient top-up options of Rs.50, Rs.100 and Rs.200. The facility provides customers with the freedom to choose and modify their OTT preferences, making their entertainment experience more personalized.

This facility is available through BSNL’s Cinemaplus portal: https://cinemaplus.bsnl.co.in

BSNL is set to introduce two new prepaid plans Rs.202 and Rs.2,449 – offering insurance benefits in association with Oriental Insurance Company. These plans combine BSNL’s telecom services with an additional insurance benefit and will provide greater value to mobile customers.

The expansion will continue with 185 additional sites planned in the remaining uncovered villages. Further, 50 sites are being planned and executed for providing dedicated communication services to BSF Border Out Posts (BOPs) in the Rann and Creek areas, supporting critical communication requirements in strategically important locations.

Under the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) initiative, 685 mobile towers in Gujarat have been connected with 4G services, extending connectivity to hilly, remote and scattered rural areas. Approximately 95,000 customers are currently availing BSNL 4G services through these towers.

BSNL continues to offer a wide range of affordable prepaid and postpaid mobile plans. Under the FRC-1 Freedom Plan, new customers can obtain a BSNL SIM at an introductory price of ₹1 and avail 1 GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 24 days validity.

BSNL is also providing high-speed broadband connectivity through Unlimited Bharat Fibre (FTTH) services, offering speeds from 25 Mbps up to 1 Gbps, with plans starting from ₹259 per month. Popular plans include Fibre Basic at ₹499/month with 60 Mbps and Fibre Basic Plus at ₹599/month with 100 Mbps. Customers can also opt for long-term payment options and avail additional service benefits as per the applicable plan.
