Ahmedabad: On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the Progressive Foundation of Human Rights (PFHR) organized a National Convention in Ahmedabad under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.” The programme was held at Hotel Silver Cloud near Gandhi Ashram on Ashram Road and saw the participation of social workers, community representatives, and citizens dedicated to the cause of women’s empowerment.
The convention was presided over by Rakesh Pandey, President of PFHR, who emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring equality, dignity, and justice for women and girls. He stressed that awareness, social cooperation, and supportive policies are essential to address challenges related to gender equality.

During the convention, speakers and participants exchanged views on various issues concerning women’s rights and discussed ways to promote a safer, more inclusive society. The discussions also focused on encouraging women to take on greater leadership roles and actively participate in social and developmental initiatives.
The event was coordinated by Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, while Monika Vaghela served as the Convention Incharge. Members of the organizing team, including Jagdish Pandya, Mukesh Vaidya, and Mukesh Srimali (Gujarat President), were also present and contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The convention concluded with interactive networking among participants followed by a high tea session, where attendees shared ideas and explored opportunities for future collaborations to further strengthen women’s empowerment initiatives.
